The Domaine Team

At the head of the Domaine, owner and director Reda Sadziute has embodied the spirit of the place since it opened in 2007. With a background in hospitality and tourism, she has dedicated her entire career to welcoming guests and creating warm, genuine experiences.

Throughout the year, she is supported by a close-knit team made up of Jake, Sukanya and Jo, each of whom contributes to the day-to-day life of the Domaine in a friendly and attentive atmosphere.

During the high season, the team grows to match the rhythm of summer and ensure that every guest receives the same quality of welcome, in keeping with the spirit of the place.

A Place with History

The Domaine de Vareilles is part of a group of buildings once connected to the Château de Fontvielle, located just across the road and now privately owned. While the château dates from the 19th century, some of the Domaine’s buildings are much older.

The building that now houses the reception dates back to the 17th century. It was originally used to store crops, particularly grain, and likely to shelter animals. With the construction of the château, additional structures were added, including stables—once used for racing horses—and carriage houses, which have since been transformed into living spaces, including what is now the restaurant kitchen.

The Orangerie, now home to the restaurant, was originally a greenhouse, while the hotel rooms once served as accommodation for the château’s staff.

Abandoned in the 1970s, the buildings remained in near-ruin until they were purchased by the current owner in 2002. An extensive renovation project followed, carried out with patience and care between 2002 and 2009. The restaurant opened in 2007, while work was still ongoing.

In 2009, nine fully renovated rooms were opened. Since then, the Domaine has continued to evolve, with new additions over the years—including an outdoor pool and additional rooms—to offer today a unique place to stay, combining historic charm with modern comfort, across 16 rooms.
